Although we are TV experts in our field, we do not want to produce programmes which
we think reflect Mediation but will make our TV project an open platform with contributions
form many sources into the TV production process.
There are three key features to our TV programming:
1. Target Audience Participation
Our TV programming will be successful in creating lasting change and acceptance
of Mediation where there is empowerment between consumers, business and Mediators
and local institutions, courts and government bodies. Thus participation from Commercial
enterprises is actively encouraged and essential to bring an interactive and relevant
element to our TV output.
2. Partnership
Our approach to Mediation TV is one of documentary style programming. Whilst maintaining
editorial control we are pleased to utilize our national TV media platform to publicize
the great benefits of mediation and make this ADR process highly visible and applicable
to all.
We are far removed from the traditional TV approach where your participation would
be limited to Guest appearances. Our approach by contrast is to facilitate, not
direct your involvement in the TV shows. Thus your input will be welcomed with the
content and development of shows.
3. Long Haul
The TV project’s goal goes beyond simply ‘introducing mediation’ into a legal system,
and focuses more on raising awareness amongst business decision makers about the
new world of mediation and that can be sustained over a long period of time. The
impact and popularity of the TV broadcast will not lead to an instant acceptance
but will require sustained and long term programming with many strands.
